The legendary Pearl Jam release their highly anticipated, self-titled, eighth studio album on 1st May. The new album marks the band's first studio release in nearly four years. Produced and mixed by Adam Kasper and Pearl Jam, the album was recorded at the band’s Studio X recording facility in Seattle. Kasper co-produced Pearl Jam’s previous studio album ‘Riot Act’, which was released in 2002.
Since they got together in 1991, Pearl Jam has sold nearly 60 million albums worldwide, including millions of live bootlegs. The band has released 7 studio records, 2 live records, one double-disc b-sides record, and one double-disc greatest hits record. Asked about the new album, the band commented
"We've got all the instruments going full force, yet coexisting. It's like we took our aggressions and shaped something positive from them in a very direct manner. Though we’d qualify most of the record as hard-driving, the two quiet ones (‘Parachutes’ and ‘Come Back’) could be our best attempts yet at pulling the disguises off of loss of life, and even love." |
